Nigerian Military plane carrying the Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, and other top military personnel has reportedly crashed.

 

DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that there was no survivor in the crash.

According to sources, the aircraft crashed at the Kaduna International Airport at about 6 pm.

The crash was reportedly caused by bad weather as it was raining heavily in many parts of the state.

It was also gathered that 11 passengers and crew were on board the plane.

The Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of the Accident Investigation Bureau, Nigeria, Akin Olateru, confirmed the crash.

 

“Beachcraft 350. 8 souls on board. Unfortunately all dead,” Olateru wrote in a WhatsApp note obtained by the Punch.

The Nigerian Air Force also confirmed on its Twitter handle that one of its aircraft crashed in Kaduna, but gives no detail about the incident.

 

“An air crash involving a @NigAirForce aircraft occurred this evening near the Kaduna International Airport.

 

“The immediate cause of the crash is still being ascertained. More details to follow soon,” read the statement by Edward Gabkwet, the force’s spokesman.
