Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu called on voters to take advantage of the election period to express their views freely.

The governor said this when he spoke to reporters on Saturday at Ikoyi II’s 019 Ward 08 voting team, which voted in Saturday’s parliamentary \/ local government elections. “As voters, this is the only time we can express ourselves freely and openly. This is the advocacy outcome that we must all continue to express to our citizens.

“All the logistics have been provided. Really only our citizens can go out and express themselves. This is a call from the city government to ask our people to stand up and express their opinions,” the governor said.

From low turnout to late election materials, Lagos state local government elections started slowly. According to reports, officials from the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) arrived at some polling stations on time, while others arrived at the polling center more than an hour after the scheduled election began.
