According to ESPN reports, Manchester United coach Solskjaer hopes to lay off up to eight first-team players this month.

Jadon Sancho has joined from Dortmund this summer, and Real Madrid defender Rafael Varane is about to join.

However, Manchester United will have to balance the accounts by approving some sales. If the bid is large enough, up to eight first-team players can be allowed.

They are Anthony Martial, Daniel James, Jesse Lingard, Brandon Williams, Diogo Dalot, Alex Telles, Phil Jones and Andres Pereira. Although some withdrawals won’t come as a surprise, others, such as Martial, raise one or two eyebrows.

Due to Manchester United’s lack of strength in the attacking field last season, if injuries do occur, the abandonment of players from teams like James, Lingard and Martial can prevent Solskjaer’s side from scoring goals.
