In this news the former Senator of Kogi West, Dino Melaye, has reacted to claims that popular internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas, also known as Hushpuppi, laundered $31 million for him. Melaye denied the allegation and berated those behind such a claim.
The former lawmaker also rubbished claims that he was being investigated by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) over the money laundered by Hushpuppi.
In a video he posted on his Facebook page, Melaye wondered why the FBI did not arrest him while he was in the US for two months. Dino, who is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) described the $31m as “audio money.”
He said, “I just read on Twitter and Instagram that Hushuppi helped Dino Melaye launder $31 million. Out of the money, you people should just give me one million dollars. It is enough for me.
“Those of you who are saying this, please take the audio 31 million dollars and give me just one million dollars. Please, I’m waiting for the one million dollars, I really need it. They said the US FBI is after me but I did two months in America, or is it that they forgot to arrest me at their airport? ‘Awon Oloshi.’ “
