Before we dive into the story of how SnehTV came to life, let’s rewind a bit — to where it all started. Every great idea begins with a spark, and this is the story of ours.
How It All Began
I’m Opeyemi Alimi, the founder and CEO of Snehtv, a dream I built out of passion, consistency, and a strong belief that small beginnings still count.
I was born and raised in Ikotun, Lagos, and attended Ijegun Senior Comprehensive High School before earning my BSc in Computer Science from the National Open University of Nigeria.
The Hustle Days
My journey wasn’t smooth, I’ve hustled no be small.
I once sold tires at Ladipo Market, and later worked in a beverage company just to survive while chasing my tech dreams.
Falling in Love with Technology
Since childhood, I’ve been in love with technology and entertainment.
It started with electronics, then computers and from there, I found my true gift: making people smile through creativity and stories.
The Corporate Grind
I later joined Bailord Limited, working alongside MTN.
I started from the lowest level, selling SIM cards. Even when my colleagues got promoted before me, I didn’t feel bad, I kept believing my time would come and it did.
After months of hard work, my boss noticed my dedication and tech skills.
He promoted me straight to Secretary, then Office Assistant, then MTN Activation Manager, Office Manager, and finally PA to the Boss.
That was when I realized I wasn’t just working, I was building myself.
Each task was training me for something greater.
The Birth of Snehtv
Even while working, I kept growing Snehtv.
I started on WhatsApp with just 10 viewers, manually saving contacts from Facebook in a notebook.
That’s how Snehtv started growing — slowly, consistently, passionately.
People Who Helped Me
Then God sent people who helped me.
A lady introduced me to WhatsApp Business, showing me how to use it professionally.
She also ran her own TV (something like Exotic TV), but we lost contact. I’ll always be grateful.
Support also came from influencers like Omopataki, NaijaEverything, Naija Twitter Savage, The Vogue TV, MrLee the Plug, and others.
And I’ll never forget DJ Akamo, who was the first to ever post my link for free in 2018 — he had about 500 viewers then, which felt like 1 million to me at that time.
He didn’t even know me; he just did it.
I’ve also collaborated with brands like Checkers Custard, Yale Foods, and more.
And shoutout to Fineboy Okola and Shanwolerobot, who made a Snehtv jingle all the way from Russia 🇷🇺.
Lessons I’ve Learned
All these taught me three lessons:
- Hard work pays..
 - Prayer works.
 - Consistency beats talent

People will doubt you, but don’t stop.
Stay focused, and believe in yourself and in God’s timing.
“If I can build something from zero, you can too.”
Today
From WhatsApp chats to a full-fledged website, Snehtv.com now connects thousands of people daily, an active space where laughter, lifestyle, and learning collide.
The journey continues, but one thing remains the same:
Snehtv will always be about cruise with sense.
