The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to prioritising maternal and child healthcare, declaring that no mother should lose her life while giving birth.She made the statement while commissioning the 100-bed Senator Oluremi Tinubu Maternal and Child Specialist Hospital in Gombe State, a project executed by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (OSSAP-SDGs).
“The commissioning of this hospital is not just the unveiling of a building; it is the opening of doors to life, to hope, and to a healthier future for our mothers and children,” she said.

“Healthcare, especially maternal and child health, is at the heart of the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which seeks to ensure that every Nigerian child has a healthy start in life and that no mother dies while birthing life.”
The First Lady commended stakeholders in the health sector and urged medical professionals, community leaders, and citizens to ensure the facility delivers quality services with excellence, compassion, and integrity.
She expressed confidence that the hospital would help reduce maternal and infant mortality rates, providing much-needed relief to families in Gombe and neighbouring states.
Senator Tinubu also inaugurated the ultra-modern New College of Nursing and Midwifery, Gombe, during the visit, where she interacted with enthusiastic students who expressed gratitude for her presence.She has since returned to Abuja after a two-day working visit to the state.
